Why did Jesus first forgive the paralytic`s sins, and only later heal him? What lesson was he trying to communicate?
Beacuse the real death we should fear is the one of the soul. The illnesses that affect it are the real worry. Eternal life regards the soul not the body. We are all bound to die and called to bear our crosses.the health of the soul is of paramount importance. If too immersed in the flesh, thats where the `viruses` can attack. If we are overtly immersed in it. It has to be lived, loved and valued in the right perspective as a temporal gift that the lord lovingly granted us.

Why did Jesus first forgive the paralytic`s sins, and only later heal him? What lesson was he trying to communicate?

Jesus first wanted to cleanse the soul of the paralytic then He saved him. Jesus wants us to do the same, He wants us to have Faith in him then He will forgive us our sins and washes our body with his blood. He saves us!

Jesus was pointing out how the spirit is more important the body. Jesus' performed many miracles and healings, but He emphasised teaching above all so that we would love God and our neighbor, and live in peace.

Jesus often rewarded strong faith by healing spirit, mind, and body. What do you think was the purpose of most miracles. Was it to relieve suffering only, or to point the way to, and glorify God?

Why did Jesus first forgive the paralytic`s sins, and only later heal him? What lesson was he trying to communicate?
Jesus first forgave the paralytic's sins because the person has to be free of sins and feel the joy of God's forgiveness and after that he will be healed.  Jesus was trying to communicate that a person first  receive the inner healing and then, the physical healing.

Jesus Heals a Paralytic

He entered into a boat, and crossed over, and came into his own city. Behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven you."
Behold, some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes."
Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven;' or to say, 'Get up, and walk?' But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins..." (then he said to the paralytic), "Get up, and take up your mat, and go up to your house."
He arose and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
