Why did those who passed by mock Jesus?
People have mocked Jesus because they did not believe that Jesus is the King of Israel. They believe Jesus was a great liar claiming to be the son of god but who could`nt save himself. Jesus became man to die for us and saved us from our sins. If and if only He showed to people right there and then that he can perform miracles, we might not as well be saved. Jesus wanted to reveal Himself to the many that He is the son of God who is sent and willing to die to save us from sins. Another significance of this is that, Jesus is really true to His words and that to realize what had been prophesied. If this did not happen then, we would not have been saved.
